Meetup #14 – Noir deux
Last September as part of our monthly “meetups” here in Sydney, we did a shoot in the style of film noir. That particular shoot seemed to really strike a chord. We had the best turnout of any shoot we’ve done, and the feedback was extremely positive.
Based on this, I decided we should probably do it again, as there were some photographrs who wanted to make it last time, but couldn’t.
So, last night, we did “Noir deux”.
The venue (sourced by Jeni Nagy) was absolutely fantastic. Billed as “Australia’s most haunted house”, Studley Park House in Narellan (on Sydney’s south western outskirts) was perfect for the genre. Built in the late 1800′s, the house just oozes yesteryear charm.
Our two models, Nat Landy (he of “White Bay power station” fame) and the stunningly beautiful Ama Garatshun were just as impressive as the house! Both of them got into their roles enthusiasitcally, and had a lot of laughs in the process.
And again, we had a stellar turnout of photographers, ranging from complete noobies to professional photographers just looking for some “personal project” fun.
To everyone involved (the photographers, the models, and to the custodians of Studley Park House), thanks heaps for a great night!
Great selection, Bruce. You got some killer (‘scuse the pun) shots.
