Today, we went on our boat trip to see the sea caves. While we were waiting to get on board the cruise boat, I noticed the dodgem car ride adjacent to the wharf, with its NSFW artwork. There’s that open-European-mindset again!
The sea caves can be found all along the South Coast of Portugal, and it used to be that you could get access to the beaches inside the caves, but these days, that’s not an option from the cruise boats. You can get onto the beach if you swim or kayak to them, but the boat operators aren’t allowed to let you off inside the caves anymore. This was a little bit of a disappointment. I would have loved to have had some time to shoot some pano’s or HDR shots from inside.
Our boat trip lasted about two and a half hours, and when we got back to Portimao, we went for a walk on the main swimming beach. There were some nice caves there as well, in which I did a couple of HDR shots.
Late in the afternoon, I shot a multi-image pano from the balcony of our Air B’n’B.
