Day 12 – December 27

Christmas Day was spent in Bruce Rock, hanging out with my Dad and all of that side of my family.
First Christmas together since 2005.
Awesome.
Then yesterday, Boxing Day, we drove down to Perth (another short driving day of 3 hours) and spent the afternoon with some relatives from my Mum’s side of the family. Again, awesome to catch up. I don’t get over this side of the country often enough.
Today, we caught up with Mark and Karen and their daughter (Mark is one of my cousins, Karen is his wife) for breakfast before heading to Esperance.
This was the first modification to the original itinerary. Originally, we were going to head down to Pemberton for the night, then on to Esperance the following day (again for one night). But by this stage, we are starting to tire of setting up the tent every night, only to have to pack it all away the following morning. So, we’ve decided we’ll high-tail it down to Esperance in a day so we can have two nights in the one spot.
Along the way, we passed through the town of Williams. The sign to the entrance of the town just could not be passed up as a photo opportunity!
Just south of Wagin, we passed a dry salt lake known as Lake Parkeyering. Again, I had to stop for a couple of shots.
Then, it was on to Esperance and to set up camp.
Looking forward to a day of sightseeing tomorrow. I’m told the beaches around Esperance are a sight to behold.

I hope you loved Esperence as much as we did. I loved every minute we spent there
