We got up early n the freezing cold and headed out in search of a good spot to shoot the sunrise.

Max and I left home, and stopped within 5 mins to fill up with fuel for the first day on the road.
While we were there, I got a call from Cath advising us that it had rained up in Grafton last night, which meant that there would definitely be no cane firing tonight. Read more
Western Plains Zoo

In May 2007, I took Cath and Max out to Dubbo in the middle of New South Wales for the Mother’s Day weekend.
While we were there, we spent a day at Western Plains Zoo.

This blog post was written last week, and posted then.
However, as behind-the-scenes construction continues on this site, we had a “glitch in the matrix” which caused it to get sucked down a cyber-wormhole, never to be seen or heard from again.
At least, that is, until now!

Last weekend, Cath, Max and I headed up to Port Stephens, about a 2 hours drive north of Sydney.
It was a kind of belated-birthday getaway for me.
