Day 08 – December 23

Even though you might have a location on your “photographic bucket list”, it doesn’t mean you necessarily know which way it faces and therefore what is the best time of day to shoot it.
Such was the case with the Old Telegraph Station at Eucla.
Even though I got some nice images last night, it was only upon arriving there that I realised that all the iconic shots of it that I’ve seen before were taken in the early morning light, due to it’s easterly facing position.
So, what else to do but come back down at first light? Unfortunately, the clouds decided that this particular morning would not be my morning. Oh well, such is life. At least I’m happy with yesterday’s images.
So, it’s back on the road for a monster of a day… Eucla to Kalgoorlie. 904 km. Oh joy.
No time for any more photos today.
Well, except maybe for a family portrait or two!
Thankfully, we’ll be spending tonight under the roof of a mate from my primary school days (the only school friend I have kept in touch with!).
Looking forward to hanging out with him, his wife and a bottle of red (or two).
